Marketing Communications & Consent

This policy covers marketing emails and text messages: when we send them, the legal basis we rely on, and how to opt out at any time.

What we send

Where you have opted in, we may send occasional emails about new products, restocks and offers. We do not send daily marketing, and we do not sell, rent or trade your contact details to anyone.

Legal basis

We rely on your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR, or on the “soft opt-in” where you bought from us, we collected your details in that sale, we only market our own similar products, and you were given a clear chance to opt out at the time and in every message since.

Consent is opt-in: we do not treat placing an order, browsing the site, or a pre-ticked box as consent to marketing.

Text messages

We only send marketing text messages where you have specifically opted in to receive them. Transactional messages — order confirmations, dispatch and delivery notifications — are not marketing and are sent as part of fulfilling your order.

How to opt out

use the unsubscribe link at the foot of any marketing email;
reply STOP to a marketing text message;
email support@thewindmillnursery.co.uk asking to be removed.

Opting out takes effect as soon as we process it and in any event within 72 hours. It does not affect transactional messages about orders you have already placed, and it never affects your ability to buy from us.

Suppression

When you opt out we keep the minimum record needed to make sure you are not contacted again. That record exists to honour your choice, not to market to you.

Your data rights

You can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you can object to direct marketing at any time — that objection is absolute and we must act on it. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail and for your right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
