We describe every product as accurately as we can. This policy explains how to read our specifications, and what natural variation you should expect from wood and wood-effect furniture.

Descriptions and specifications

The material, finish and dimensions of each item are stated on its product page. Where a product is made from engineered wood, veneer, laminate or a wood-effect finish rather than solid timber, the product page says so. If any description on this site is unclear or appears to conflict with another page, email us before ordering and we will confirm the specification in writing.

Colour and grain variation

Timber and wood-effect surfaces vary. Grain pattern, knots, tone and the way a finish takes will differ between individual pieces and between batches, and items bought at different times may not match exactly. This is a characteristic of the material, not a defect.

Screen calibration also affects how colour appears. If an exact match matters to you, contact us before ordering.

Images

Photographs and lifestyle images are for illustration. Props, plants and accessories shown alongside a product are not included unless the product page explicitly lists them. Scale in styled images can be misleading — always check the stated dimensions.

Dimensions and tolerances

Dimensions are given in centimetres and are measured at the widest points unless stated otherwise. Manufacturing tolerances of up to approximately 2 cm are normal. Before ordering, please measure your space and your access route — doorways, stairwells, lifts and turns. See Delivery Access & Large Items.

Weight limits and intended use

Load ratings, where given, apply to evenly distributed static loads on an item assembled exactly as instructed. All items are intended for normal indoor domestic use unless the product page states otherwise.

Corrections

We correct errors in descriptions, images and specifications as soon as we find them. If an item you have ordered turns out to be materially different from its description, you may cancel and receive a full refund — see Cancellation & Cooling-Off Rights.
