Every piece we sell is covered by a 12-month guarantee against manufacturing defects. This guarantee is given voluntarily by The Windmill Nursery and is in addition to — never instead of — your legal rights.
What is covered
For 12 months from the date of delivery we will repair, replace or refund an item that develops a fault caused by a defect in materials or workmanship under normal domestic use. Examples include failed joints on an item assembled as instructed, defective hardware supplied with the product, and finish defects present at manufacture.
What is not covered
- fair wear and tear, including softening of cushioning and gradual fading of finishes;
- damage from misuse, overloading, dropping, dragging or unsuitable cleaning products;
- damage from damp, direct heat, prolonged direct sunlight or outdoor use of indoor furniture;
- items modified, repaired or re-finished by anyone other than us;
- natural variation in timber and wood-effect surfaces — see Product Information & Materials;
- commercial, rental or contract use, unless we agreed it in writing before you ordered.
How to claim
Email support@thewindmillnursery.co.uk with your order number, a description of the fault and clear photographs (and, where useful, a short video). We will normally respond within two business days and tell you the next step. Please keep the item until the claim is resolved.
We may ask you to return the item or the affected part. Where a claim is accepted, we cover the reasonable cost of return.
Remedies
Where a claim is accepted we will offer a repair, a replacement part, a full replacement or a refund. Which of these we offer depends on what is practical and proportionate for the item concerned; we will explain the reason for our choice.
Your legal rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not, you have rights against us that last longer than this guarantee — up to six years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and five years in Scotland — although after the first six months you may be asked to show the fault was present at delivery. See Damaged, Faulty or Missing Items.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
